The DJ Shannon Show @ The Lot Radio 8/6/25

The vibes were immaculate as I returned to The Lot this month, feeling fully recharged after an amazing family vacation. Fresh off the cruise circuit—Bimini, Puerto Plata, and Grand Turk—I came back with sun-kissed skin, a full heart, and a whole crate of new tracks collected along the way. Trust me, I was ready to go in.

We kicked things off with a gem: “Hear The Music Remix (House 4 Life Jazz Remix),” a soulful, jazz-drenched reimagining of Unlimited Touch’s classic “I Hear Music in the Streets.” This one comes courtesy of house legends Paul Johnson (RIP) and Stacy Kidd, a tribute to groove, history, and timeless sound.

Another standout moment was an afro house remix of Beyoncé’s “Texas Hold ’Em” by Spain-based producer Aruhtra. He completely flipped the track into something uniquely hypnotic and dancefloor-ready. Dare I say…even better than the original? (Okay, BeyHive don’t sting me for that one!)

Midway through the set, we took it deeper with back-to-back cuts from DJ Nativesun’s latest project, Breakin The GQOM. His fusion of club breaks with the raw energy of South African GQOM is just next level. These tracks have been anchoring my sets lately, and doubling as the perfect soundtrack to my workouts.

There’s so much magic in this month’s mix from deep grooves to high-energy heaters. Hit play, ride it all the way through, and let me know which moments hit you hardest. The full tracklist is below.

And keep your eyes peeled, I’ve got a stacked lineup of shows coming up this month, and I’d love to see you on a dancefloor soon. Head over to my Resident Advisor page to see where I’m playing next.
