The DJ Shannon Show @ The Lot Radio 12/22/24

The last DJ Shannon Show of 2024 has arrived. Thank you so much for tuning in this year. You have no idea what it has meant for me to have an amazing space to connect with new people, geek out over music, and express my creativity — without fear or judgment thanks to your support and open ears. It’s truly a blessing and I can’t believe It’s been three years on the lot. Because of you, I have been able to take the radio show out of our beloved Greenpoint shipping container and spread the love to so many places this year, including Seattle, Chicago, and Los Angeles.

As 2025 approaches, I look forward to making new friends, expanding further with vinyl, and hopefully working on some production – Dare I say singing, too!? I can’t wait to share my process with you.

So, let’s get into the music!

We kicked off the show with a lush broken beat classic that my good friend and NTS radio resident Spinorita recently put me on — “Sound Orgy” by the iconic IG Culture and Kaidi Tatham – together under their moniker Likwid Biskit. This is off of 2017’s Anthology: then and now, and has so many other goodies on the album, “herbs and spice” being one of them.

We then launched into a few albums I picked up during my recent visit to Technique Records in Miami including Joe Montana’s “In The Beginning (In The Vox)” off Strictly Rhythm in 1998 and the Daft Punk’s Homework Remixes album which I had no clue existed! It was released in 2022 to celebrate the 25th anniversary of the project with banging remixes from DJ Sneak, I:Cube, Masters At Work and so much more. We listened to I:Cube’s remix of “Around The World.”

I also packed a dope remix of Tinashe’s “Nasty” made by Sydney based producer SHUKO in here. It’s truly a NASTY edit.

Check out the full playlist below and stay tuned. The next DJ Shannon Show will air on Jan. 22.
